Helping Minds Heal Through Spoken Notes
About Dr. Laurette Abunaw DNP, PMHNP-BC
My name is Dr. Laurette
Some of the most powerful conversations aren’t spoken out loud.
They begin in the mind, in the spaces where we feel deeply but rarely share.
"Quiet Truths waiting for a safe place to land"
What Shaped This Space
I’ve spent more than two decades in healthcare, serving in roles that have shaped my understanding of resilience, reflection, and the quiet stories people carry inside. While my background includes advanced nursing practice, this space exists outside of clinical care.
It was created as a place for thoughtful writing, shared reflection,
and the gentle release of what often goes unspoken.
This space is guided by years of listening, both professionally and personally,
and by an understanding that emotional well-being is not always found through
answers, advice, or resolution.
Often, it begins with acknowledgment.
Notes by Laurette was shaped by a belief that reflection itself can offer steadiness, that written expression can ease what feels overwhelming, and that having a safe place to set things down can be meaningful, even when nothing is fully named or explained.
What I’ve Learned About People
Over the years, one truth has become clear to me:
**Everyone has something to say **
but not everyone feels safe enough to speak.
Many people hold their stories because:
They fear judgment
They worry no one will understand
They feel “too much” or “not enough”
They don’t know where to begin
Some desperately want to talk, but the words won’t come.
Some try to write, but the emotions feel too big.
Some wish someone could write for them, gently, anonymously, without pressure.
Others carry experiences so heavy that even writing feels like too much.
Why I Understand This So Deeply
I’ve lived through my own seasons of trauma and change. I’ve learned, rebuilt, and excelled, not because life was easy,
but because
Healing became a practice.
Writing became a lifeline.
Reflection became a guide.
And small notes, gentle and honest ones helped me find clarity when everything felt too loud.
Why This Space Exists
Notes by Laurette was created to offer that same gentle clarity to others.
A place where stories can be released safely, anonymously, and without judgment.
A space for emotional wellness.
A space for gentle reflection.
A space for anyone who needs to be heard without having to be seen.
A space created from years of listening, reflecting, and noticing how much people carry quietly.

My Genlte Reflection
I know I can't change the world.
But I can make a difference
This is my way of offering something meaningful, even in small measures.
A reminder that connection does not always require grand gestures.
A reminder that understanding can begin quietly through written and spoken notes.
This space exists to support reflection and thoughtful presence offering a sense of connection in what we carry.
Whether it’s a single sentence or a longer story, words have a way of reaching places we don’t always know how to name.
A note shared here may offer comfort, recognition, or a moment of clarity for someone else often in ways we may never see.
You are welcome here whether you come to read, to reflect, or to share something you’ve never said out loud.
This space is meant to be held gently, without expectation or judgment.
It belongs to those who arrive.
